Tuesday evening saw the 50th year of Veuve Clicquot's Bold Woman Awards take place at The Royal Opera House in London, hosted by Naga Munchetty. We loved to see a room full of entrepreneurial women, coming together to celebrate one another’s achievements.
Veuve Clicquot has an established commitment to women in business and each year, the Bold Woman Awards showcase the achievements of innovative female entrepreneurs; celebrating them in a space historically dominated by men. You just know this is something we can get behind at The Stack World, where everything we do is to power women in business.
There are two main categories to the Bold Woman Awards - the Bold Woman Award and the Bold Future Award. You may be aware that The Stack World’s very own Sharmadean Reid was awarded the prestigious Bold Future Award last year, as she was recognised as an 'up-and-coming leader of tomorrow'.
This year's winner of the Bold Woman Award was Mel Smith CBE, former CEO of Ocado Retail, who was recognised for her efforts whilst CEO of Ocado. Under her leadership, Ocado became the UK’s fastest-growing grocery retailer and saw an increase in its market share by over 40%.
The Bold Future Award 2022 went to Mursal Hedayat MBE, founder of Chatterbox. Chatterbox is a corporate language training provider, helping companies such as the British Red Cross and Unilever provide language learning opportunities to staff as powered by marginalised communities. In just six years, Chatterbox has raised over £2m in investment. We love to see it!
